What is Bridge?
Bridge is an absorbing and entertaining game that is enjoyed by millions across the world. The game is played by four people with a pack of playing cards. You play as part of a pair, one pair against another. Every deal is different and although the game is not hard to learn, one of its attractions is the challenge of playing really well. In our bridge clubs, multiple groups of four play the same deal in turn, so you compare your score with others who had exactly the same cards. This means you can do well even if you are dealt poor cards! This is called duplicate bridge.
What we offer:
- Official tournaments and championships
- Training programs for all skill levels
- International competition representation
- Bridge education and development
- Community building and networking
Why play bridge?
- It is fun to play
- It has endless variety
- It is social. You play with a partner and get to know everyone at the club
- It keeps your mind active and can be played by people of any age, from children to centenarians
- It is good for concentration, analysis and problem-solving. Some countries even have it on the school curriculum

Bridge in Egypt
The game in Egypt
In Egypt, the game of Bridge is considered one of the most popular card games (kotchina) among young and old people, especially in family gatherings, summer resorts, cafes, and even sometimes in clubs. It is often considered the official game for groups that love cards but depend on thinking, not luck.
Why can it be said that the game of Bridge is important?
- It develops social and mental intelligence.
- It teaches patience and discipline (not any card is played randomly).
- It reveals personalities: people who like to take risks, who exaggerate in bridge, or who like to play it safe.
- It has a professional community: people play seriously and there are even APPS and Egyptian websites that organize online tournaments.
The common playing system in Egypt:
- 4 players only.
- Each round has a different type (there may be an agreed-upon order of rounds or according to the bidding).
- Number of rounds: usually 18 or 24 rounds (according to the table).
- Scoring is by points, and the first after the last round is the winner.
